‘We must take each match as a cup final’ – Mothusi Gopane on Boeung Ket’s title race

Phnom Penh៖ Mothusi Gopane said Boeung Ket must take every match as a cup final for the battle in the Metfone Cambodian League title race this season.
Boeung Ket, with a match in hand, are fifth in the Metfone Cambodian League table and are five points behind league leaders Phnom Penh Crown after they secured two wins and two draws from their opening four matches.
Mothusi Gopane, who joined Boeung Ket this season, was impressed by the club’s history as they won the league championships three times. The South African midfielder is also thankful to Boeung Ket’s management team and his teammates for their support to help him settle quickly in the Metfone Cambodian League.
The 28-year-old, who scored one goal and provided three assists in his four appearances for Boeung Ket, told camsports.org: “We have been working hard as a team, and we have a good start. We just have to maintain and continue where we left off and take each and every game as a cup final.
“Boeung Ket is a good team with good history, and that’s the first motivation to be a part of a good team surrounded by good management, and it really made thing easy for me to jell in the league. The league here is very competitive and interesting, and I’m enjoying my football.
“Thanks to the coach for giving me the opportunity to be a part of Boeung Ket, and I have adapted very well with the support from my teammates.”
