Phnom Penh៖ Andres Nieto seems to forgive Yudai Ogawa for head-butting him after the Phnom Penh Crown midfielder stated that he forgot the incident that happened during Phnom Penh Crown’s 1-0 win over Angkor Tiger last week.

Yudai Ogawa lost his mind and head-butted Andres Nieto after the Colombian made a tackle on him, and the Japanese was then sent off as the Red Singha secured a hard-earned three points thanks to Paulo Victor’s second-half strike.

Phnom Penh Crown top the Metfone Cambodian League after five matches with four wins and a draw, and Andres Nieto is hopeful that his side can maintain their winning mentality.

Andres Nieto told camsports.org: “I think that is a part of football. We know that there are moments in the game when we are tired or when the result is over, and we can become frustrated, so it leads us to take certain reactions, but not all of us react the same way.

“I do not know the motive. Maybe he did it for the reasons such as frustration or else. I am a professional player, and I know this is part of football. Of course, I already forgot what happened on the pitch.

“I am very happy that everything is going very well, and I feel an extra feeling since it is my first season in the Cambodian League. I hope that my team will continue like this throughout the tournament, so we will achieve the goal of being the champions.

“From the moment that I signed for Phnom Penh Crown, my mentality is to be the champion, and I have it very clear and everyone in my team too. We are working hard to achieve it.”
