Phnom Penh៖ Matheus Souza targets more victories after Soltilo Angkor secured their first win in the Metfone Cambodian League this season.

The Siem Reap side had suffered four straight losses in the league before they ran out 4-2 winners against National Police last week, with Matheus Souza scoring a brace.

The Brazilian is hopeful that a victory over National Police can boost his team’s morale and recover from a long period of frustration.

Matheus Souza told “I feel relieved because with the difficult start we could be shaken and keep losing, but we don’t stop working hard or give up to get our first victory. The importance is that we give confidence to the team before the next games.

“Because I scored both goals in the first half, the team was relaxed and confident in the match, and I want to take more opportunities to score more goals in the next games.

“We will race to recover after four losses, and now we need to train more as a team to win the next games. Even if I don’t score, I’ll be happy to win. The important thing is to overcome this situation with the Soltilo Angkor family.”
