Phnom Penh៖ NagaWorld were made to work hard in their come-back 2-1 win over National Police on Saturday last week as match winning hero Sos Suhana is surprised by National Police’s performance.
The Cambodia international midfielder pointed out that big teams will find it hard to deal with National Police’s defense and counter attack that saw Prak Sovannara’s side took the lead through Sophal Udom’s late header in the first half of the encounter.
Five minutes into the second half, Sos Suhana set up Shane Booysen’s equalizer before scoring the winning goal in the last kick of the match to secure a hard earned three points for Meas Chana’s side.
Sos Suhana told camsports.org: “Winning the first game of the season is very important for us. We need to beat the teams we are supposed to win to make it easy for us in the next matches.
“National Police surprised us a lot this season. They are much stronger than last season. They like to defend and play quick counter attack with their long balls, so it’s quite hard for us. I think big teams will struggle to take points from National Police this season.
“I’m so happy to score the winning goal for my team, and it’s unbelievable to score in the last seconds of the match. It’s hard to describe this feeling. I scored a lot of goals during our pre-season, so it gave me confidence to score.
“We signed several experienced players, and their experience is important for the team. Hopefully, they can help us to challenge for the league title this season. I think we have a quality team to challenge for the title because we have the greatest team this season if compared to other previous seasons.”
