Phnom Penh៖ Cambodia U19 finished as the Group G runners-up following a 3-0 victory over Brunei U19 in the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers.

A complete first-half dominance saw Cambodia U19 created many big moments, but managed to score twice before the interval as Brunei U19 must have had their goalkeeper to thank for making several great saves.

Cambodia are in front in the fourteenth minute of the play as Lim Pisoth, who picked up a through ball from Ean Pisey, smashed home into the top right corner to help Cambodia U19 lead 1-0.

Two minutes later, Sieng Chanthea was close to get Cambodia another early goal, but his header from Keo Udom’s cross couldn’t find the net.

After his first goal was ruled out for offside, Keo Udom doubled Cambodia U19’s advantage with a well-placed header from Lim Pisoth’s perfect corner kick.

Cambodia U19 kept their momentum and created a number of clear chances, but the Brunei U19 goalkeeper’s brilliant saves saw the efforts from Ean Pisey, Met Samel, Lim Pisoth, and Chan Sophea denied.

Cambodia U19 were very wasteful in front of Brunei U19’s goal in the second half as they failed to capitalize on the chances they created, with their dominance of the match continuing.

Lim Pisoth’s early free kick was saved, and Ty Lieng’s effort from the rebound went wide over the bar, with Sieng Chanthea missing opportunities from the close range.

With five minutes remaining, Min Ratanak’s low effort from the close range gave Cambodia U19 a 3-0 lead. Despite pushing hard late on, Cambodia U19 couldn’t find target.

The final whistle was blown as Cambodia U19 secured all the points to finish second in Group G as Malaysia U19 qualify to the final round of the AFC U19 Championship as the group winners.
