Phnom Penh៖ The Metfone Cambodian League is set to re-start next month as the clubs have been allowed to have training session in groups since yesterday.
Cambodia’s top flight and other football events were suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and team gathering was not allowed for months.
Ngoy Srin is delighted to lead the team training again, and the Visakha captain isn’t worried about playing during the Covid-19 crisis as he believes the players have strictly practiced medical instruction from the government to ensure their safety.
Ngoy Srin told camsports.org: “The return of the Metfone Cambodian League is what we have always been looking forward to. We have a long break, so it’s great to be back to train together and play football again.
“We have talked and joked around a lot during our team training, and we enjoy it a lot. We will try hard to prepare our team for a big match. We are confident with what we are doing. We keep following the medical instruction strictly to maintain our safety.
“We have no health issues, and we trained hard from home during the league suspension. It’s not a big worry for us to play during the Coronavirus crisis, and we are ready for the return of football.
“We will play behind the closed doors, but the important thing is to play football. Without games, it can surely affect our form.
“Playing behind the closed doors is not the best thing we wish to see, but we need to understand the current situation. The fans can support us and enjoy the games from home.”
