Ouk Sovann on why Visakha still struggle despite having many Cambodia National Team players in the team

Phnom Penh៖ Visakha have signed many Cambodia National Team stars the like of Keo Sokpheng, In Sodavid, Ouk Sovann, Sin Kakada, goalkeeper Keo Soksela, and more in recent years, but they still struggle in their attempt to clinch their first Metfone Cambodian League title.
Ouk Sovann, however, pointed out that the Cambodia international players who Visakha have are still young and need more top flight experience to help the club challenge for the league title.
Colum Curtis’s side don’t have the start that their supporters could have expected after they were beaten twice by title rivals Boeung Ket and Tiffy Army, but the 22-year-old defender believes that they will improve and go on to achieve their goal this season.
The defender told camsports.org: “People say Visakha have a lot of Cambodia National Team players, and they are right. They also need to know that these players are still young and need more experience. We now have a lot of quality players in the league even though some of them are not playing for the national team yet. This makes us hard to challenge for the league title, but I still believe we can achieve it one day.
“Both Boeung Ket and Tiffy Army are good teams, but during the games we made some mistakes that allowed them to secure all the points. We created so many chances, but we didn’t capitalize on those chances. We did work hard, but the results didn’t go our ways.
“I don’t think our attack isn’t good enough, so you need to know that the opponents’ defenders are great. We have a lot of good strikers in our attack. I think our attack will get better and better.
“I have full faith and support for my coach and teammates. We are all working hard and have a great commitment for the team. This is just the start of the season, so hopefully we can perform better in the next games as we are working really hard.”
