‘It’s too soon to write us off’ – Keo Soksela on Visakha’s title race

Phnom Penh៖ Keo Soksela believes that it’s too soon to write Visakha off for the Metfone Cambodian League title race this season even though they didn’t have a great start.
With five matches down, Visakha sit in the third place in the Metfone Cambodian League table as they secured nine points and were beaten 1-0 twice by their main rival Boeung Ket and Tiffy Army.
Visakha are seen to have many star players, but still struggle to clinch their first league title, and Keo Soksela explained that his side need to improve their team spirit to make themselves real title challengers.
“The title race is not over, and it’s not a big threat to us as we have just completed only five league matches,” the Cambodia international goalkeeper told camsports.org.
“There are many more matches to play, but we need to do well in all the remaining matches. We must start to collect three points from each match, and I’m sure we still have high hope because it’s just a start – not the end yet.
“A team with many star players cannot always win trophies as a winning team needs a great team spirit to fight for a trophy.
“Experience can be a part of it that makes us struggle to win trophy. We have a lot of young players who don’t get enough playing time to experience the Metfone Cambodian League, so it’s hard to challenge the title with other big clubs that have greater experience than us.
“I think it doesn’t take too much time for us to win trophy if each of us gives our all, and surely we need a great team spirit to achieve it.”
