Phnom Penh៖ Mizuno Hikaru revealed how his older brother Mizuno Toru had an influence on his football career at the young age.
The midfielder started training when he joined Kindergarten in Japan, but he didn’t have a strong commitment to be a professional player.
The 28-year-old realized that it was fun to play football and decided to try his luck in this career that has brought him many friends from different countries.
He was introduced to the Metfone Cambodian League in 2016 when he joined Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng before moving to Boeung Ket in 2017 and won the Metfone Cambodian League title with them.
The Japanese told camsports.org: “I started training in Kindergarten because of my older brother’s influence. I didn’t have strong commitment to be a footballer when I started playing football. I just played for fun.
“My older brother is not a football player now, but he started playing football before me. I just followed him because it looked fun. If he had played baseball, maybe I would have played baseball, too.
“When I played in J-League Division 3 with FC Ryukyu, it was a hard time for me. Through football, I have made many friends in various countries. This is my property.”
