Siem Reap៖ Taing Sopheak is hopeful that his brace against Kirivong Sok Senchey last week can convince Oriol Segura to start him in Angkor Tiger’s next Metfone Cambodian League matches.

Angkor Tiger have yet to lose any match in the league after they defeated Kirivong Sok Senchey 2-0 thanks to second-half substitute Taing Sopheak’s brace after coming on to replace Long Phearath.

The midfielder is proud to make an impact on his side as three points from the Takeo side help Angkor Tiger maintain their third place in the league table with two points behind league leaders Phnom Penh Crown.

Taing Sopheak told camsports.org: “We performed really well, and I think we all followed what the coach had instructed us. I’m happy to score and make an impact on the team. I’m very excited and proud to score two goals for the team and help the team win three points. The three points is also for our supporters as they always encourage and give me confidence.

“My two goals are very important for us to stay in the third place in the Metfone Cambodian League table after three weeks, and we are very pleased with the three points.

“I still have faith in myself, and to break into the starting line-up I need to train harder. Hopefully, my hard work can convince the coach to use me in the starting XI, and I know I need to work much harder.

“Everyone at the club including the coach, players, and staff are confident in challenging for the league title this season, and we have a very good team preparation. We train really hard, and for the club we can do everything from our heart.”
