Siem Reap៖ Boeung Ket deserved a point for their hard work and sense of ‘never give up’ during last week’s draw with Angkor Tiger, stated Oriol Segura.
Oriol Segura was left frustrated as he believed Angkor Tiger should have deserved more than just a point from their opening Metfone Cambodian League match against Boeung Ket at home.
Yudai Ogawa’s fabulous free-kick gave the home side the lead at the half-time break, but Mat Noron equalized for the visitor from the spot kick in the sixty-seventh minute to deny the Siem Reap side three points in a thrilling 1-1 draw.
The Angkor Tiger coach told camsports.org: “Yes, in my mind [drop points]. We hit the post twice, and we created two clear chances. Plus, the game finished a bit more pushing from my side, but I also congratulate the opponents because they never gave up, and that’s why they earned a point.
“It is a very interesting game as both teams were showing the level going up in Cambodia. Lots of big, quality players on the field, which made this game better for supporters as it’s not a fighting and muscle game.
“I think that in general we had more chances to win the game because we hit the post twice, but finally a 1-1 draw was the result. Points gained or dropped is an analysis to do at the end of the season probably and especially after away game against Boeung Ket. It will depend on the two games played, and the balance will be positive or negative.
“Our team is so young, but despite of play with fear we prepared the match well, and we took our bet on the game. In yesterday’s game, all of our players showed a big commitment and motivation.”
