Phnom Penh៖ Seut Baraing hopes four foreign players including Paul Omogba, Andreas Nieto, Masaaki Indeguchi, and Timothy Chimerie, whom Phnom Penh Crown have signed this season, will help the Phnom Penh side challenge for the league title.
The left-back aims to improve his cross from the left wing as he believes the Red Singha’s new signing Timothy Chimerie, who has physical advantage, will benefit from it in front of the opponents’ goal.
He is also pleased with the arrival of Um Vichet as he reckons the former Ministry of National Defense goalkeeper as one of the best shot-stoppers in the Metfone Cambodian League.
The 20-year-old told camsports.org: “I think our five foreign players will make us a stronger team than last season. They have much experience in [Metfone] Cambodian League, so they have a very good understanding of the league.
“I always believe in our team that we can achieve our goals, and I believe we can challenge for the league title this season.
“Thimothy is a quality signing, and hopefully he can create threat in our central attack. It will make it easy for me to deliver crosses as he is tall and tough, so what I need to do is to make quality crosses and on target. He will help us a lot in our attack.
“We always want to move forward from season to season as we try to learn and improve. Last season, we had some goalkeeping problems, so the arrival of Um Vichet is a great news for us. He has a great experience with club and national team. He is one of the best goalkeepers in Cambodia.
“I have always learned and got new experience. The challenge is bigger and bigger in the league, so I think this season will be a very thrilling season for us.”
