Phnom Penh៖ Khuon Laboravy has already set the date for retirement from professional footballer, but his next career won’t go anywhere far from football as he has commitment to be a head coach.
The former Cambodia international striker has obtained coaching C-license certificate. He is now working as the Assistant Technical Director at the Football Federation of Cambodia and coaching Boeung Ket Academy U15.
The 31-year-old believed that he has a great football career as he won several trophies with Boeung Ket and Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng in the Metfone Cambodian League and Hun Sen Cup.
“That [head coach] is my target after my retirement, but it will take more time to reach this goal,” Khuon Laboravy told camsports.org.
“Now I obtain C license, and I’m coaching Boeung Ket Academy U15. I’m also working as assistant technical director at the Football Federation of Cambodia in charge of Provincial Academy. I have already had plan for retirement from football, but you need to wait and see.
“I think I have some great achievements in my football career. I won three league championships with two different clubs: two with Boeung Ket and one with Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and also Hun Sen Cup.
“Of course, it’s a little difficult for me as it is my first experience, but after I joined coaching courses, it made me understand more about coaching role. I also like to share my experience to the boys who like to play football.”
