Phnom Penh៖ Va Sokthorn has shown his desire to stay in the Metfone Cambodian League for another season after departing from Phnom Penh Crown, who finished sixth in the league last season.
The midfielder who returned to Phnom Penh Crown for the second spell last season has a wide range of experience in Cambodia’s top flight, and he also looks to extend his time in Cambodia as he is reviewing the offers from a few Cambodian clubs.
Despite at the age of 32, the French-Khmer born is still very committed to football as he is confident that he can achieve more and is looking for new challenge in his career.
Va Sokthorn told camsports.org: “I’m in Cambodia now, and I’m training hard. I’m staying here and working to be ready for the next Metfone Cambodian League season.
“I have received some offers, of course, and I already have my choice. I want to work with the club who put the best intention on me to make me feel very confident.
“The age doesn’t stop me in my own football commitment. I know what I want, and I will give my best to achieve it. Now it’s a new step for me, new club, new coaches, and new teammates. The most important thing for me is a new mentality. I believe that I can accomplish a lot more.”
