Phnom Penh៖ Ouk Sothy is unsure when he will return to football in a new role after he decided to retire from professional football player by the end of last season as he insists that he wants to relax from football and have time for his family.
The former Phnom Penh Crown skipper holds the AFC B licence, and he hopes to continue his work with football as a coaching staff when the right time comes.
The 32-year-old born joined the Red Singha in 2011 and won the Cambodian League title twice with the club in 2014 and 2015 and made twelve appearances in his last season with Phnom Penh Crown in 2019.
The Phnom Penh Crown legend told camsports.org: “I’m not thinking of any plans related to football. I’m not sure what to do next because I want to spend much time with my family. I was quite busy with football when I was a player, so now it’s time for my family.
“Of course, I will return to football. I will work with football, but I’m not sure when. For whatever I do, I still think of football. I need to wait, and I think the right time will come.”
