Phnom Penh៖ Cambodia are bottom of Group C in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers second round after four matches with three losses and one draw, meaning that their chance to go through the next stage of the tournament is likely over.
Soeuy Visal, however, claims that Cambodia still have high motivation to play their remaining four matches as they aim to develop their team tactic and individual player’s skill.
The Cambodia captain has also pointed out that his side have no problems playing away from home against Hong Kong tomorrow, but underline the host’s advantages including weather, supporters, and pitch.
Soeuy Visal told camsports.org: “We’ll face Hong Kong in an away game, but I think that’s not a big deal for us. When we play at home, we usually have many supporters behind us. For this away game, they can get advantages including their fans, their stadium, and weather, but we will see.
“The coach knows best who will play as he gives us a chance to show what we can do. We give a chance to our young players to get experience and to be more confident on international stage.
“We won’t change our objective, and it is to develop our football and play real football. We try to keep possession and play short ball. We are thinking and looking ahead to the future to play good football.
“It’s difficult for us to go through the next round, but we will do our best to develop our individual skill and team tactic to make us a better team. We will give everything for our remaining games even though we are likely to fail to reach the next stage of the tournament.”
