Phnom Penh៖ Lim Pisoth reckons Cambodia U19’s tie against Thailand U19 as a must-win match for the young KoupreyBlues in the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers as both sides will face off at the National Olympic Stadium this evening.
The Phnom Penh Crown attacking midfielder rates Thailand as one of the big teams in Group G, but Cambodia U19 need nothing less than three points if they want to maintain their dream of taking part in the AFC U19 Championship next year.
The 18-year-old, who bagged a brace in Cambodia U19’s thumping 9-0 win over Northern Mariana Islands U19 few days ago, is likely to make another start this evening after recovering from an injury he picked up during Cambodia U19’s historic win.
Lim Pisoth told camsports.org: “We all know Thailand is a great team, so without a doubt that it will be a tough game for us. We have no choice, so I mean we must beat Thailand. We are ready to fight, and we will do everything we can.
“I feel my injury is much better.”
Sitting in the third place in Group G of five teams, Cambodia U19 will need to beat Group G leader Thailand U19, who have just demolished Northern Mariana Islands U19 21-0.
