Phnom Penh៖ Conor Nestor claims that his players are ready to do everything they can to finish the season on high as they play their Hun Sen Cup final today after lifting the Metfone Cambodian League trophy this season.
Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng face Boeung Ket in the Hun Sen Cup final at the Smart RSN Stadium, the home of Phnom Penh Crown, this Wednesday as they are on the verge of securing double this season.
Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng’s hope to go invincible this season was ended by Naga World, who handed the Svay Rieng side their only defeat of the season in the final league match, but Conor Nestor urges his side to use last week’s disappointing 2-1 defeat as a motivation when they take on Boeung Ket in today’s Hun Sen Cup final.
Conor Nestor told camsports.org: “We have prepared well for the game, but we do have a number of injury concerns due to the physical nature of our game versus Naga World last Friday.
“Experience can never be painted as a negative. The fact that many of our players have won the trophy under the excellent guidance of Sam Vandeth is an advantage. However, it’s a knock-out competition, and anything can happen on the day.
“We aren’t really thinking about the double as we are still a little sore from our first defeat of the season last Friday. I’m hoping the pain of that defeat inspires us to find the extra energy needed to bring home another trophy
“These players are always ready. I cannot fault the effort and application of all 27 players from the first day of pre-season on November 22nd, 2018. It’s been a long hard season, but on Wednesday I know our players will give everything to finish the season in style.”
