Phnom Penh៖ Kouch Dani was disappointed with a 2-2 draw with Visakha in their Metfone Cambodian League away encounter last week as he described it as two points dropped.
Naga World took a two-goal lead thanks to an early strike from Khim Borey and second-half goal from Kouch Dani, but they were left frustrated as they conceded two late goals as Keo Sokpheng and Ajayi Korede scored to secure a point for the host.
Meas Channa’s side failed to defend their league championships, with the Metfone Cambodian League trophy lifted by Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, and Kouch Dani pointed out that injury and departure of some players made it hard for his side to secure another league title this season.
Third-placed Naga World are fighting for second place as they are three points behind Visakha, who face G.C National Police in their final league match of the season.
Meanwhile, Naga World will face unbeaten Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, so Kouch Dani believed it is hard for his side to get three points from this season’s league winners and for Visakha to lose to G.C National Police.
The Naga World midfielder told camsports.org: “We dropped two points because we allowed Visakha to score by crossing and by penalty kick, and we played with 10 players against 11 for a few minutes because our captain was injured.
“It will be difficult to reach the second place because I think in the last game Visakha will take at least one point against G.C National Police.
“This season was good because we showed great performance even we missed some players due to injury. This season, some referees made wrong decisions against us in the important games, so we dropped precious points.
“I miss some ex-players of Naga World because they had moved to another club, and some players had injury. That’s why it is difficult to defend the league title. Anyway, our coach did a great job this season with training and preparing the game.”
