Phnom Penh៖ The Metfone Cambodian League (MCL) returns this week after the international break as several players were invited to join their national team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
With twenty-three matches down and three to go, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng top the Metfone Cambodian League table with eight points ahead of second-placed Visakha.
Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng welcome struggling Ministry of National Defense this Sunday, knowing that three points from Tep Longrachna’s side is enough for them to claim their second league title this season.
Conor Nestor’s side are likely to welcome back Cambodia international midfielder Prak Monyudom, who featured in Cambodia’s 14-0 loss to Iran and a 4-0 defeat to Iraq during the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers second round.
Visakha’s trip at the AEU Sport Park against host Asia Euro United is scheduled to be played earlier than Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng’s clash with Ministry of National Defense.
Visakha know they can’t drop points against the home side if they want to keep their title hope alive, but Asia Euro United won’t give away three easy points as they aim to finish the season in a good position.
