Cambodia welcome Iraq in their fourth Group C match at the National Olympic Stadium, and the Terengganu midfielder aims to bring out a positive result for the team and supporters.
Bin Chantha Thierry told camsports.org: “We have to learn from our game with Iran and improve for next game as we have no time to be sad and keep our head down. We play at home with full stadium, so we must fight and rise back even it’s a strong opponent as well.
“To be honest, if we lose 5 0r 10 goals, it will be the same. I think fans and people think it’s crazy, but they have to know we tried to play and not sit in front of our goal and just play long ball.
“We try to press and keep the ball, so we lose our energy. As the coach said we saw where we are, and we have a lot to improve, so I won’t say it’s hard to take, but sad reality from our level and the world class level that we have to reach. We as players have to work harder and be more professional.
“The spirit is stronger because we want to bounce back for our fans and ourselves as professional players. That’s where we have to wake up and realise our mistakes and try to improve step by step, so we work on our mindset and mentality.
“No choice, we must be ready, for we can’t hide or have excuse. We represent Cambodia, so we have to be ready and fight for our nation. We have to be ready mentaly and physically and not be afraid of their physical and enjoy football.”
