Phnom Penh៖ Marie Privat is set to win his first Cambodian League title this season after spending six years with several clubs in Cambodia’s top flight as he is also one of the leading strikers to win the Golden boot.
The Cameroonian striker, who joined Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng this season and has made a big impact at the club, has scored thirty goals and helped his club maintain an unbeaten run after twenty-three league matches.
Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng are just one win away from winning the Cambodian League title this season as they top the league table with eight points ahead of Visakha with three matches to go.
The Svay Rieng side will face Ministry of National Defense at home after the international break as they go into the match knowing that a win over Tep Longrachna’s side is enough for them to claim their second league title.
Conor Nestor’s side have secured eighteen league victories and five draws from their twenty-three matches, and Marie Privat aims to help the club maintain their undefeated league record till the end of the season.
Marie Privat told camsports.org: “I want to be the champion and not just focus on one game. If possible, we want to win all of our three remaining games.
“I play in Cambodian League for 6 years. I started in 2013, and it will be my first time to be the champion if we win the league title this season. I thank God first, and all these goals I have scored come from the team work.”
