Phnom Penh៖ Saret Krya claims that the team have no pressure to face strong teams as Cambodia will take on Iran in their first away match, which will be their third Group C match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers second round.
The Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng full-back has been a regular starter for Cambodia in their recent matches as he helped Cambodia down Pakistan to reach the second round of the tournament.
The 24-year-old also lauds Felix Dalmas’s team tactic that helps to improve the players’ confidence and teamwork that sees them keep the impressive ball possession during the matches against Hong Kong and Bahrain.
The KoupreyBlues’s team defense is also fantastic as they have never conceded more than one goal in their last four matches in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Felix Dalmas’s side defeated Pakistan 4-1 on aggregate to reach the second round, where they were drawn in Group C alongside Hong Kong, Bahrain, Iran, and Iraq. They secured their first point from a 1-1 draw against Hong Kong in their Group C opener before going down 1-0 against Bahrain.
Saret Krya told camsports.org: “As you all can see in our last four games, we have played really well as a team from the goalkeeper to the strikers. We have high motivation and commitment, so we have no fear for whomever we play against. We only try to play our football and follow our team tactic that is prepared by our coach.
“I have no pressure, and I’m very happy to face a strong team. We have to be ready for all of our home and away games in Group C. “We try to play and apply our team tactic, and we focus on our improvement rather than the results.
“I’m not at my best yet, so I need to work harder to reach where I want to be and keep improving. Hopefully, I can do it.
“I’m very happy to join and play for the team as it is my childhood dream to play for the national team in the biggest football tournament in the world.”
