Phnom Penh៖ Say Piseth is amazed at how G.C National Police came from one goal down to thrash Angkor Tiger 4-1 at the EDC Stadium last week, with Brazilian striker Souza Matheus bagging a sensational hat-trick.
Long Phearath opened the scoring to put Angkor Tiger in front within ten minutes of the play, but Souza Matheus’s late strike drew G.C National Police level at the half-time break.
With just nine minutes into the second half, Souza Matheus got his second goal of the match to hand G.C National Police a 2-1 lead before Okaro Osa extended the lead to 3-1.
Souza Matheus completed his hat-trick in the eighty-eighth minute from the spot kick to give Prak Sovannara’s side an incredible 4-1 victory over Angkor Tiger at home.
Following a massive win over Angkor Tiger, Say Piseth was pleased with Prak Sovannara’s training program and tactic as the G.C National Police skipper also praised hat-trick hero Souza Matheus for his hard work.
Say Piseth told camsports.org: “I think everyone including the team and the fans feel surprised by the result. We feel great that we win the game with huge result.
“We had prepared new tactic and training program before the game. The coach has faith in us, but it is not perfect yet. If we sign more quality players, I’m sure G.C National Police will be much better next season.
“During the training, I have noticed that he [Souza Matheus] is a different player from other players, who used to play for us. He is very hard-working and always accepts the feedback for the coach. He is trying to apply what the coach has instructed him. He is a quality player.”
