Phnom Penh: Visakha’s title hope remains very slight as they are eight points behind league leaders Preah khan Reach Svay Rieng with four Cambodian League matches to go till the end of the season.

However, Brazilian striker Da Cruz insists that his side’s title race is not over yet, and they will fight till the end after they thrashed Ministry of National Defense 3-0 at home last week, with Da Cruz bagging a brace and another goal scored by Sary Matnorotin.

Last week’s huge win over Tep Longrachna’s side keeps Visakha’s title dream alive, while Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng proved what the champions must do by beating Bati U18 7-0 at the Svay Rieng Stadium.

Da Cruz told camsports.org: “I think winning is always good. We work for this to bring joy to the Visakha family. It’s a very important victory to keep us dreaming.

“Yes, I’m happy to be scoring goals and to be able to help my teammates on the field as we always seek the victories.

“So, now we are 8 points behind Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng.  I always talk to my teammates during the training that as long as we still have a chance to fight for the title, we will fight, and we keep dreaming.

“First, thank God. This season, I can help Visakha with my work. But I always appreciate that if it wasn’t for my teammates, I would never be able to score the goals. So if I score a goal for myself, the whole team does. We are a team, and we play as a team.”
