Phnom Penh៖ Cambodia captain Soeuy Visal claimed that Cambodia will play with full passion and confidence in tomorrow’s Group C tie with Bahrain at home in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers second round.

The KoupreyBlues gave their supporters an exciting night on Thursday last week with their magnificent performance that should have won them three points in a 1-1 draw with Hong Kong.

Each of their players played with confidence through their build-up play from the back despite the pressure from Hong Kong, and Soeuy Visal expected that his side can keep the same confidence and passion against Bahrain in their second Group C match at home.

The Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng center-back also highlighted the importance of supporters who he thinks can boost the team confidence and motivation during the match.

Speaking to this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Soeuy Visal said: “It will be a tough game for us because they are a higher quality team than us, and their individual players are also better than ours. However, we are ready for tomorrow’s game. We will play with passion and confidence.

“They are a better side, but we will play with confidence just like what we did against Hong Kong. Of course, we want to perform better than we did against Hong Kong.

“We will do what the coach has ordered us to do. We will try to put pressure on them. We always have confidence. Whatever the result will be, we always move forward.

“No matter what the result is, it won’t be a big deal for us as we will try to apply the game plan that our coach has instructed us, so that is our aim. We invite all of our supporters to come to the stadium and cheer for the team like what they did when we played Hong Kong. We really want to see them at the stadium.

“I think the supporters are important motivation for us. It gives us a big boost if many supporters come to support us. We are very excited to see so many of them at the stadium, and they give us strength.”
